I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Marketing, Analytics, and Design at the College of Business, Oregon State University.
My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. I then pursued a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Louisiana State University, followed by a PhD in Design from the University of Minnesota. Before grad school, I spent eight years in the retail banking industry, and founded and ran a business that specialized in creating custom clothing through co-design.
My research is driven by a vision of a more sustainable and equitable society. I focus on improving the accessibility and sustainability of apparel through personalized recommender systems and apparel ontologies. Additionally, I am exploring the potential of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) as a tool for design ideation, aiming to create a more sustainable apparel design process.
I am passionate about fostering creativity and innovation in my students. I believe that through collaboration and a shared commitment to sustainability, we can make a significant impact on the world of fashion and beyond. I look forward to connecting with you and exploring the exciting possibilities in the world of sustainable apparel design together!
